Manado — The Department of Information and Communication Technology Education (PTIK), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Manado, carried out a community service activity at Sayap Kasih Orphanage as a form of social concern and commitment to community engagement.
This activity was attended by department leaders, including the Head of Department Dr. Arje Cerullo Djamen, S.T., M.T., and the Secretary of Department Dr. Olivia Eunike Selvie Liando, S.T., M.Pd., M.Sc, along with several PTIK students. Their presence was warmly welcomed by the orphanage management and the children.
In his remarks, Dr. Arje Cerullo Djamen stated that this community service activity is an important part of character development for PTIK students. “We aim for our students not only to excel in technology but also to have empathy and social awareness,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Olivia Eunike Selvie Liando added that activities like this serve as valuable moments to foster togetherness and a spirit of sharing. She expressed hope that community service initiatives will continue to be a regular agenda within the PTIK Department.
Students actively participated in various activities, including the distribution of basic necessities, games and interactions with the children, as well as educational sessions designed to bring joy and learning.
The management of Sayap Kasih Orphanage expressed their gratitude for the attention and care shown by PTIK UNIMA. They also hope that this positive relationship will continue in the future.
Through this community service activity, the PTIK Department of the Faculty of Engineering UNIMA reaffirms its commitment to being present in society and contributing meaningful impact through solidarity and service.
