PURWOKERTO – The debate delegation of Universitas Negeri Manado (UNIMA) successfully achieved outstanding accomplishments in two of the most prestigious student debate competitions in Indonesia: National University Debating Championship (NUDC) and Kompetisi Debat Mahasiswa Indonesia (KDMI).
This national-level competition was held at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), Purwokerto, Banyumas, Central Java. The event was organized by the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Directorate General of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Diktisaintek), Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, from October 20 to 24, 2025, and was participated in by more than 120 universities across Indonesia.
The journey of the UNIMA delegation to the national stage began through rigorous selection processes at both the university and regional levels. The UNIMA team demonstrated excellence at the regional level by achieving 1st Place in KDMI and 2nd Place in NUDC, earning them the opportunity to represent LLDIKTI Region XVI at the national competition.
At the national level, both UNIMA teams recorded impressive achievements:
-
NUDC Team, consisting of Stevana Flamini Manopo (Accounting 2023) and Christian Yehuda Tendean (Informatics Engineering 2022), successfully advanced to the Top 32 (Octofinal) in the Open Category.
-
KDMI Team, consisting of Hessel Zakharia Paparang (Psychology 2024) and Kyara Sint Eirene Mocodompis (Psychology 2023), achieved 3rd Place in the Novice Category.
Additional achievements were also earned by the N1 Adjudicators (judges) from both teams. Andrit Audrey Andreina Dien (Information and Communication Technology Education 2023), who served as an N1 Adjudicator for KDMI, delivered an impressive performance by being selected as a Panelist Judge 5 times and as a Chair Judge once. Also accompanying as an N1 Adjudicator for NUDC was Felicia Sarah Rachel Imbar (English Education 2025) as a Trainee Judge.
Andrit Audrey Andreina Dien, N1 Adjudicator for KDMI, expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
"Although this year I have not yet become an accredited judge, I am very grateful to have been selected as an N1 Adjudicator for KDMI to represent UNIMA at the national level. I will prepare myself better for next year's selection," said Andrit.
